Best Wedges for Women

Perfecting the short game is the best way to improve your score. While there are wedges available to players of all ability and gender, there are some that are particularly better for women golfers. Let’s run down the top wedges for women in 2022.

Cleveland CBX 2

The Cleveland CBS 2 is the best overall women’s golf wedge. It features increased forgiveness at impact, while providing excellent feel and optimal spin. While not the cheapest wedge on the market, it remains affordable. The one downside is that it is oversized, which could be less than desirable for low handicappers.

Callaway Mack Daddy 5 JAWS

Rated the best pitching wedge, the Callaway Mack Daddy 5 JAWS provides a great combination of forgiveness, control, and spin. Two bounce grind options provide additional moment of inertia, which adds extra forgiveness. The S-Grind is designed to keep the leading-edge low during impact.  The JAWS grooves add maximum spin, which increases control. On the downside, this wedge is not great for firm turf conditions and is on the expensive side. This is a great club for full shots in the 70-yard range.

Titleist Vokey SM8

The Vokey SM8 has 52 degrees of loft and provides excellent feel, spin, turf interaction, increased accuracy and distance control. The forward center of gravity increases your moment of inertia for added forgiveness. The F-grind sole keeps the face a bit closed, adding to distance on full shots.  On the downside, the Vokey SM8 is expensive and isn’t great for high handicappers. This is best suited for more accomplished players looking for distance control.

TaylorMade MG2

For those looking for a great lob wedge, look no further than the TaylorMade MG2. There are three bounce options available. The design provides superior feel, maximum spin, which promotes excellent control around the greens. In addition, at 60 degrees, the TaylorMade MG2 promotes a high launching shot. On the downside, the club runs on the expensive side.
